N-1デッキジャケットは、第二次世界大戦から朝鮮戦争にかけて米海軍の艦艇乗員用に採用されたもので、表地には「ジャングルクロス」と呼ばれるコットングログラン、裏地には風を遮り保温性に優れたアルパカモヘアウールパイルが使用されていました。本製品は、そのオリジナルのN-1デッキジャケットをベースに、バズリクソンによってモディファイが加えられたライトバージョンです。オリジナルの防寒用として重厚な作りに対し、このライトバージョンは裏地を省いた軽量デザインで、春や秋に適したライトアウターに仕上げられています(前身頃には部分的に薄手のコットンライニングが付けられています)。また、オリジナルのアルパカウールパイル襟に代わり、このライトバージョンではチクチク感を軽減するためコーデュロイが採用され、肌触りが良く快適な着心地が考慮されています。さらに、左胸のUSNマークも省略されており、ミリタリーテイストを残しつつ、カジュアルな雰囲気を加えたモダンスタイルに再構築されています。このライトバージョンは、バズリクソンの現代的なアプローチによるシビリアン(民間向け)モデルで、軽量化されたデザインは春秋のライトアウターとして最適です。

表素材はコットン100%のジャングルクロス(コットングログラン)キャンバス生地です。高密度に織られ、無骨な雰囲気のある、強度に優れた頑丈でタフなしっかりとした生地です。超高密度に織られているため上品でマットな光沢感と高級感も持ち合わせています。ミリタリージャケットに使用された布地の素材は高密度が故に、摩擦による表情の変化が非常に魅力的でもあります。中でも顕著に表れやすいのがジャングルクロスで、この製品の生地表面にも白い筋状の跡/ホワイトマークが見受けられますが、経年変化の風合いも楽しめるこの生地の特性として予めごご了承ください。

本来備えられているアルパカウールパイルの裏地は省略され、前身頃のみに薄手の裏地が張られています。

フロントは、ジッパーと、その上をボタンで留める比翼(ストームフラップ)による二重構造仕立てで、外気の侵入を防ぐと共にジッパーを保護するつくりになっています。ジッパーのスライダーには共生地タブが付けられ、バイクのグローブなどをしていても開閉がしやすくなるようにされています。

脇下には湿気逃しのための鳩目穴(アイレット)が開いています。

ウエスト部分には、手を入れやすいように斜めにカッティングされた片玉縁ハンドウォーマーポケットが設けられています。

左衿にはネックストラップが装着されています。ストラップを使用しないときには邪魔にならないように左衿裏のボタンに留めておくこともできます。衿を立ててチンストラップを右衿裏のボタンに留める事により、防寒性が増すように設計されています。

裾裏にはドローコードが通され、絞りを調整できるようにされています。

このジャケットは、N-1デッキジャケットのデザインを保ちつつも、軽量なアウターとしての機能性を持ち併せています。ミリタリースタイルと現代的なライトアウターの要素を組み合わせており、春や秋に適したライトアウターに改良されています。

Fabric : This jacket is made from 100% cotton and features a robust corded-cotton jungle cloth duck canvas (cotton grosgrain) fabric, known for its high density and exceptional durability. The front panels are partially lined with lightweight cotton broadcloth for added comfort, while the back and sleeve panels are unlined, creating a breathable single-layer design. The corded-cotton jungle cloth duck canvas fabric has a tightly woven structure, similar to Bedford cord, with a vertical twill line that adds a subtle matte sheen and luxurious texture. The fabric also undergoes a special treatment to achieve a gently faded, vintage appearance, complete with white marks, spots, and streaks that contribute to its unique, retro charm. Please note: The white marks and streaks are not flaws but are intentionally added to enhance the jacket's vintage look.

Placket type : Front zipper closure with button-front wind flap protector (storm flap) located in front of zipper closure. This design protects the wind from slipping through the front. A self-fabric tab on zipper for easy functioning with gloves.

Collar : Accented with corduroy with backing jungle cloth canvas to maintain collar shape and help keep collar up when the need arises. Instead of the original alpaca/wool pile collar, this updated version uses corduroy collar to reduce itchiness, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant wear. The left side collar has a throat latch (neck strap, chin strap, throat tab). And one concealed buttons under the right collar allow the throat latch to be buttoned across the neck. This throat latch is used for in foul weather to provide added protection to the lower part of the face with the collar-upturned. You can also hide a throat latch with throat tab keeper button underneath left collar, when you do not use a throat tab.
